Glee finale

Unfortunately, I have not had the opportunity to blog about the Glee finale, in one word: Spectacular! The medley was great at usual and I particularly loved the fact that Quinn gave birth and Ms Cochran adopted the child. I really hope to see her character again later on in season 2. Also, I wonder what Quinn will be like now that's she's no longer pregnant. Furthermore, what's up with the creepy love connection between Will's Ex (Terry) and Finn? Seems a little like pedophilia to me, maybe tone that down a little Ryan Murphy. What do you guys think will happen in season 2?

Entitlement.... people are snobs

You know, since I moved downtown and have turned into a hard core walker, I have a new bone to pick with certain pedestrians. I really get annoyed and a little insulted when people take up the entire sidewalk and expect you to move out of their way without them having to budge a single inch. This undeserved sense of entitlement frustrates me. Such a small unwillingness to move your ass to the side as I am willing to do for you is uncalled for. What makes you so much more important than me? Why am I the only one who has to acknowledge your existence without you doing the same? Please fellow pedestrians show some courtesy, it's bad enough on the roads as a driver, let's not succumb to the same pigheaded attitude.

FIFA World Cup 2010

Hey my devoted readers,

I just decided to post a short note about this year's world cup. Although I'm not typically a big football aficionado I can't help but get caught up in the World Cup hype. I must tell you all that I do not know who I want to see win this year but I do know who I don't want to see win the world cup... ALGERIA! Luckily the way they've been playing they'll be out by their next game. Why Algeria you ask? Well my country of origin is Egypt and we have won the Africa Cup of Nations 6 times, yet when it came to this year's qualifiers for the World Cup Algeria pulled all these sleazy moves on the soccer field to weasel their way into the World Cup and for that reason I have no pity on them and will be laughing out loud when they loose. Tell me what you guys think and who you'd want to see win and why? So far a lot of the underdog countries have been holding their ground (i.e USA and Ghana) don't you think?

Glee call backs

Hey everyone, so I know that there is a lot of buzz about call backs for the recent Glee auditions so I decided to see what I could find out first hand so I contacted Ulrich/Kritzer/Dawson casting because they are the casting directors for Glee, to ask some general questions and the lady on the phone (probably Carol Kritzer) advised me that they were handling the casting process at another office (she didn't give me the name of the other office) but I was able to ask her two very important questions:

1) When do they begin call backs? She said she does not know because they were still going through the thousands of submissions

2) Do you know how many people will be called back? She said she has no idea

so there you have it ladies and gentlemen, we hopeful Gleeks are not the only ones who have no clue what's going on. Guess we'll just have to wait and see. Good luck to all and especially good luck to me!!!! :)

CAN A WOMAN RETAIN A POSITION OF POWER WITHOUT BEING A BITCH?

Hey my lovely followers, today's topic is women in power. In particular I'd like to voice my opinion on how many women in power conduct themselves towards other women. First of all I'd like to say that I myslef am a woman and consider myslef a modern day feminist. I believe women are just as capable as men of anything they put their mind to. That being said, I have, unfortunately, noticed a pattern in my own experiences with women in power. Many women in power that I have worked or volunteered under or even been taught by in University have had serious serious behavioural issues. I have been stabbed in the back, sabotaged, belittled and insulted by these women and believe me I did NOT deserve that kind of treatment from any of them. Is it jealousy? Some say it is but I'm really nothing special, not particularly smart or beautiful enough to be jealous of so what else could it be? Ladies if you have some insight into this particular issue please share it because I am at a loss. Why are many women in power such biotches?

I must stop here and provide a short side note that acknowledges and praises the many many women in power who are professional, kind and friendly. I know there are many of you out there who may take offence to this particular post but I am simply voicing how I feel given my personal experiences.

Another common theory for this passive agressive behaviour is that women feel they must be extra bitchy to fit into a man's world. However, this attitude needs to be changed. Kindness should not be taken for weekness, especially not in today's world. This dog eat dog mentality I feel is out of date with all the humanitarian movements occuring in this day and age. If that is why women are acting like they've been sitting on pins then they need to take a chill pill and ease up a little no one will think less of you if you actually show you care about other people, it's ok... really!

My personal theory is simple... SEXUAL FRUSTRATION! Many of these women do not have a stable relationship or are too busy trying to build and maintain their careers to let out their sexual tensions. I know it may sound slightly achaic but I believe the simplest answer is usually the best one. So ladies do us all a favour and get laid already so that everyone else doesn't have to deal with your bitchiness or your insecurities.
